Top 5 Squarespace Websites We Built That Push the Platform’s Limits
At abZ Global, we often hear the same myth: "Squarespace is just for simple, template-based sites."
Clients come to us with complex Figma designs or specific functionality needs, assuming they need to migrate to WordPress or a custom stack to achieve their vision. Our answer is usually the same: We can build that on Squarespace.
We have delivered over 300 Squarespace projects since 2015, and our approach has always been unique. We don't just drag and drop blocks; we use advanced CSS and JavaScript injections to transform the platform into a bespoke digital experience. Most importantly, we do this without enabling Developer Mode, ensuring our clients retain the ability to easily edit their content using the standard Squarespace interface.
Here are 5 of our favorite custom projects where we pushed the boundaries of what Squarespace can do.
1. BLAK Private Jets
Website: www.flyjetblak.com
(Project Codename: Octopus Capybara)
The private aviation industry demands an interface that feels as seamless and luxurious as the flight itself. For BLAK, a standard contact form wasn't going to cut it.
The Challenge:
The client needed a sophisticated "Request a Quote" engine that could handle complex, multi-leg flight requests (From, To, Date, Passengers) while maintaining a sleek, app-like visual identity.
Our Solution:
We engineered a custom booking interface that sits on top of Squarespace’s native capabilities. By using custom JavaScript, we created a dynamic form that guides high-net-worth users through the booking process step-by-step. Additionally, we built a custom fleet showcase layout that displays technical specifications (Range, Speed, Capacity) in a clean, non-standard grid that breaks free from the constraints of the 7.1 Fluid Engine.
2. SafeOpt
Website: www.safeopt.com
SafeOpt is a major player in the e-commerce enablement space, partnering with massive brands like Sephora, Target, and Apple. Their website needed to convey enterprise-level trust and scale—aesthetic qualities often associated with SaaS platforms built on React or Webflow.
The Challenge:
Displaying a massive ecosystem of partner brands and explaining a complex "privacy-first" email service without overwhelming the user.
Our Solution:
We focused on structural customization. We built custom logo grids and "How It Works" sections that utilize precise CSS styling to ensure perfect alignment and responsiveness across all devices. The result is a pixel-perfect, corporate-grade site that builds immediate authority, proving Squarespace can host serious tech platforms.
3. Queen Anne Painting
Website: www.queenannepainting.com
Local service businesses often settle for clunky, utilitarian websites. For Queen Anne Painting, a premier Seattle-based company, we wanted to elevate their digital presence to match the high quality of their craftsmanship.
The Challenge:
Turning a trade service (painting and carpentry) into a visually editorial experience that feels more like an interior design magazine than a contractor's site.
Our Solution:
We utilized advanced typography styling and a custom scrolling marquee ("Redefining craftsmanship...") to add motion and modern flair. We also heavily customized the portfolio interaction, ensuring that their high-resolution project photography takes center stage with hover effects and aspect ratios that standard galleries can't offer.
4. Adrenaline
Website: www.adrenalineip.com
Adrenaline provides real-time sports data and AI predictions. In an industry driven by speed and technology, their website had to look "fast" and futuristic.
The Challenge:
Implementing a dark-mode, high-contrast aesthetic with complex data visualization graphics that needed to flow naturally with the text.
Our Solution:
We implemented a neon-on-dark color scheme that is notoriously difficult to manage on standard themes. We used custom CSS flexbox layouts to create the "FieldVision™" section, where text and complex graphics lock together perfectly. The site features subtle, code-driven animations that give it a "tech" feel without sacrificing load speeds.
5. addShoppers
Website: www.addshoppers.com
As the parent company of SafeOpt, addShoppers required a B2B powerhouse website that speaks directly to marketing directors and CEOs.
The Challenge:
Organizing a dense amount of information—product ecosystems (SafeOpt, Minty), case studies, and corporate data—into a clean, navigable structure.
Our Solution:
We developed a corporate-style navigation and layout structure that feels like an enterprise CMS. Key features include custom-styled "Trusted By" carousels that handle a high volume of client logos elegantly, and bespoke testimonial sliders that function smoothly on mobile devices.
Conclusion
These five websites are proof that with the right technical expertise, Squarespace is not a limitation—it's a launchpad.
At ABZ Global, we bridge the gap between design and development. We don't just say "that's not possible on Squarespace"; we write the code to make it happen.
